3.22 Pedagogy

Description

This is a continuing AGQTP activity. The activity is designed to meet the professional learning needs of teachers by providing opportunities through ongoing professional development and school based action learning projects. The aim of the activity is to develop teachers' knowledge and skills to better respond to the current and emerging learning needs of their students. Participating teachers will develop knowledge of pedagogy suited to the content of the subjects they teach. Schools may adopt a whole school approach to reviewing and implementing new pedagogical practices or target individual faculties or teachers.

The activity will be managed by a designated officer who will take responsibility for meeting the professional needs of teachers participating in the activity. At this stage of the planning process it is anticipated that there will be involvement by higher education institutions and external providers with specialist knowledge.
