3.11 Focus on learning (CEO) Description The Focus on Learning (CEO) 2007 project activity will continue a successful model of teacher professional learning conducted in the Parramatta diocese since 2003. The FOL (CEO) 2007 activity will involve CEO staff identifying educational trends in specific curriculum areas (including technology use across the curriculum) which require an up-skilling of teachers. The activity will be managed by a team of education officers who will take responsibility for identifying trends and meeting the professional needs of teachers participating in the activity. Contacts
Outcomes Through participation in an AGQTP project, teachers will have strengthened the currency and depth of their learning area knowledge and understandings.

The FOL (CEO) 2007 is a continuing activity from previous AGQTP activities 'FOL@Parra' in 2004, 'FOL-AGQTP@Parra' in 2005 and FOL (CEO) in 2006. Reviews completed by participants and the Australian Catholic University demonstrated that the model of by engaging participants in reflective practice is sound. Environmental scans completed by the diocese informed a new agenda during 2005 and 2006. The FOL (CEO) 2007 activity has a focus on using action-research where teachers investigate priority areas identified from educational trends by education officers. The project will be a major avenue for the achievement of identified diocesan goals and the Parramatta Diocesan Strategic Plan for 2006-9. The FOL (CEO) 2007 project supports diocesan and state priorities and the objectives of the AGQTP.
