Back |
Description
The Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn will undertake two parts to the Pedagogy and School improvement project in 2008.It will focus on supporting school communities in the development of pedagogy and school revitalisation through the IDEAS process. The focus of the activity is on schools engaging in meaningful and productive examination of learning and teaching and changing practices.
The second part of the project will concentrate on Pedagogy using the Quality Teaching Framework.
It will provide teachers with opportunities to reflect and refine practice in relation to current pedagogy based on the quality teaching framework. It will also provide an opportunity to develop resource material to assist with the implementation of quality teaching framework. The activity is designed to meet the professional learning needs of staff by providing professional learning that is informed, practical and relevant, challenging, well planned, sequenced, and that has been based on identified needs of staff.
The activity will be managed by a project officer who will have prime responsibility for the organisation of programme activities and the implementation of activities as required. The project officer in collaboration with members within Catholic Education Office Education Services will design and implement activities and will collaborate as appropriate for joint activities. There will be involvement from the University of Southern Queensland (IDEAS) and the University of Newcastle (Quality Teaching).
