3.1 Professional learning through professional associations
Description
This is a continuing cross-sectoral activity. The activity recognises the valuable contribution made by professional teacher associations to teacher professional learning in NSW. Funds will be allocated to professional teacher associations on a submission basis for professional development activities within the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme priority areas and guidelines. This activity will support professional associations to complement and supplement the activities they currently provide for teachers in both government and non-government schools.
The project will be coordinated by the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme cross-sectoral administration team manager with support from the NSW Professional Teachers Council. Teacher professional associations receiving funding will be accountable to the administrative and reporting requirements of the NSW Cross-sectoral Management Committee and Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme.
