3.18 Exploring the learning and teaching framework
Back |
Description
This is a new activity. It has some links through Professor Jennifer Gore to NSW initiatives in Quality teaching. This activity will provide an opportunity for primary and secondary schools to focus on the diocesan Learning and teaching framework. The framework acknowledges the importance of the nature of the learner and the learning process and the dimensions and elements of quality teaching. This activity will provide specific professional learning opportunities for teachers in the implementation of the framework in supporting quality learning and teaching and enhancing the outcomes of students.
The activity will be managed by a designated officer who will take responsibility for the activity meeting the professional needs of teachers. At this stage of the planning process it is not anticipated that there will be formal involvement by higher education institutions or professional associations. We will be liaising with Professor Jennifer Gore from the University of Newcastle.
