3.24 Australian Government Summer School small grants
Description
This is a new cross-sectoral activity. This activity provides follow up grants to Australian Government Summer School Teacher Project graduates schools.
The project will be coordinated by the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme NSW Cross-sectoral administration team. Funding will be offered on a sector basis to Summer School graduates schools to conduct school-based professional development activities designed to share the expertise and learning Summer School graduates gained from attending their Summer School course.

Outcomes
Through participation in an AGQTP project, teachers will have strengthened the currency and depth of their learning area knowledge and understandings.
Through participation in an AGQTP project, teachers will have gained new knowledge and skills that contribute to a planned professional learning pathway.
Access
Australian Government Summer School Teacher Project graduates from New South Wales schools.
Design
Schools will be required to submit an application for funding that addresses the following criteria:
- focus on teachers' day-to-day work in classrooms to utilise the learning of the Summer School graduate in the school team partnership
- implement action learning cycles, planning, acting, observing, describing and reflecting to maximise teachers' sharing of expertise and learning
- relate to the school's management plan and whole-school approaches to teaching and learning
- promote sustainable professional learning for team members
- be communicated to the whole-school community
- be monitored and evaluated by addressing the specified performance reporting outcomes.
Implementation
Implementation will be through application and approval of funding based on meeting the application criteria and reporting requirements.
The implementation of the activity will be supported by the Australian Government Quality Teacher Programme NSW administration team.

- invitation to apply for followup grants distributed to Sumer School graduates schools
- applications for submissions received and assessed for funded grants
- funds distributed to schools
- professional development activities commence
- progress report submitted in June.

- annual report submitted in December.
