1.5 Lesson Study in Stage 6 and Stage 5 Mathematics and Science

Description
Teachers engaged in professional development learning of creative teaching strategies in Stage 6 Mathematics (General, Mathematics, Extension 1 and Extension 2), Stage 5 Mathematics (5.1, 5.2, 5.3), Stage 6 Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Senior Science) and Stage 5 Science. Teachers also engaged in a lesson study based on these and other teaching and learning strategies with an emphasis on using technology to deliver the lessons. The lesson study was communicated between the schools using a share point or other blogs.
The activity was managed from the Bathurst CEO with the support of a Task Group comprising of representatives from the systems four senior high schools. The activity was managed by the designated officer who took responsibility for the activity meeting the professional needs of the teachers.
Groups such as Teacher Training Australia, Society for the Provision of Education In Rural Australia (SPERA) and the various university personnel linked with SPERA delivered professional learning sessions in the subjects outlined above.
