>>3.01 Professional learning through professional associations

Back Back | Resources |

Description

This was a continuing cross-sectoral activity. The activity recognised the valuable contribution made by professional teacher associations to teacher professional learning in NSW. More recently professional associations have been instrumental in supporting teachers to enhance their ICT capability in teaching and learning in the way they engage in professional development. Funds was allocated to professional teacher associations on a submission basis for professional development activities within the AGQTP priority areas and guidelines. This activity was supported by professional associations to complement and supplement the activities they currently provide for teachers in both government and non-government schools.

The project was coordinated by the AGQTP Cross-sectoral administration team manager with support from the NSW Professional Teachers Council (PTC). Teacher professional associations receiving funding were accountable to the administrative and reporting requirements of the NSW Cross-sectoral Management Committee and AGQTP.
