Description
This activity will focus on supporting teachers in the integration of technology into classroom practice and pedagogical approaches employed by teachers. The activity is designed to enable teachers to improve their technical skills, their teaching of technology skills and their appropriate application in learning and teaching experiences. Through the utilisation of core and optional professional learning initiatives it will provide opportunities for teachers to engage in personal and professional technology-based activities that are tailored to meet their individual needs.

Outcomes
Through participation in an AGQTP project, teachers will in their interactions with students, have an increased capacity to provide all students with opportunities to access and apply relevant learning in literacy, numeracy and ICT.
Through participation in an AGQTP project, teachers will have strengthened the currency and depth of their pedagogical knowledge and skills.

Design
The professional learning strategy for this activity includes:

Clusters of schools connecting through collegial networks. - Workplace mentoring and coaching aligned to meeting the NSW Institute of Teachers professional teaching standards.
- Flexible learning that includes components such as face-to-face workshops, video online mentors, and discussion groups.
- Local, regional and state workshops and conferences that enable participants to have their work publicly celebrated and critiqued.
- Onsite and offsite participation in knowledge building and skill sharing activities including specifically structured workshops tailored to teachers skill level and specialised interest area
- Participation in formal courses or awards through a series of core and optional learning sessions.
Implementation
The implementation of the activity will be supported by a designated project officer.
Delivery
Workplace learning, Online learning, Mentoring, Workshop/course and Resource Development.

Needs analyse conducted for skill level and interest of participating teachers - Design and delivery of core (advanced) technology for learning modules
- Design and delivery of core (intermediate) technology for learning modules
- Scoping of optional technology for learning modules
- Progress report submitted in May
By December 2009:
- Design and delivery of optional technology for learning modules
- Sharing activities of project learnings
- Evaluation and planning for ongoing support
- Annual report submitted in December
