3.16 Learning community pedagogy
Back |
Description
The Diocese of Wagga Wagga school system will continue a process to engage teachers in thinking, discussing and collaboratively developing a Learning Community Framework for all diocesan schools. A task force will continue to investigate and recommend a process for re-engaging teachers with their core purpose of supporting student learning and their wellbeing.
This task force will be composed of representatives of CSO and school personnel who will lead a whole diocesan approach to the development of a Learning and Teaching Framework document.
From work already completed in 2008 on the dimensions of a learning framework, it has already been established that teachers need to be digitally connected to their students and the outside community in order to provide opportunities for students to be inspired, informed and engaged in their learning, achievement and wellbeing. To this end opportunities for all teaching staff will be provided to complete Certificate 1 in Information Technology managed through the Diocese of Wagga Wagga RTO.
