Description
Skilling teachers in the use of a mapping tool to organise, communicate and disseminate information to manage curriculum and share instructional best practice across the Diocese. Rubicon is the professional association involved in this project encompassing the curriculum mapping methodology developed by Dr Heidi Hayes Jacobs.

Outcomes

Design
The professional learning strategy for this activity includes:
- Flexible learning that includes components such as self-paced and facilitated online learning, face-to-face workshops, video and teleconferences, online mentors, and discussion groups. The key focus is to develop understandings of how technology might facilitate curriculum management and how the use of technology can bring vital information into the hands of all curriculum decision makers.
- Partnerships with professional associations and higher education institutions to provide expertise in the development, design and/or implementation of professional development activities.
- Centralised workshop to introduce the Rubicon Atlas curriculum mapping involving the following schools: Broken Hill, Narromine, Forbes and Parkes
- Online, collaborative planning using the web-based application
- Site visits by Rubicon personnel
- Progress report submitted in May
- Centralised workshop involving the following schools: Broken Hill, Narromine, Forbes and Parkes to review the project
- Sharing of curriculum initiatives through use of the wed-based application
- Annual report submitted in December
Implementation
The implementation of the activity will be supported by a designated project officer.
