The Literacy in the middle years web site is organised in four strands. Each strand includes modules with professional learning and support for clusters as they complete their action research. It is anticipated that clusters will work through one strand each term during 2008.
Getting started
Clusters develop understandings about key aspects of the project: literacy, the middle years of schooling and building partnerships.
Literacy
Clusters work through the teaching/learning cycle focusing on subject-specific literacy in a middle years context.
Middle Years
Clusters become familiar with research about the needs of students in the middle years, and investigate ways to work with the NSW Quality Teaching model to support effective learning for these students.
Reflecting back
Clusters take stock of what has happened over the year, and prepare a cluster presentation to be shared with colleagues at a project conference. |
